Hola!

Ahora ya os puedo hacer saber información más específica referente al single/album/video en directo. Un single con una cara A doble saldrá el 10 de Febrero (Love Over Gold/Solid Rock) y será en el formato 10” o 12” (Solid Rock es demasiado larga para entrar en single Standard de 7”!). El album y el vídeo saldrán el 16 de Marzo.

Love Over Gold será un tema añadido en el caset y el cd (no cabría en el LP) pero por supuesto, lo tendréis de todos modos si comprais el single!

Mientras que todos estas cosas se publican, la banda estará haciendo un poco de promoción y entrevistas, así que seguramente veréis trocitos apareciendo en los periódicos. En particular, deberíais intentar ver Channel 4’s The Other Side of the Tracks el 3 de Marzo, que tendrá una larga entrevista con Mark y videos de trozos en directo.

La banda estará haciendo una sesión de fotos de estudio el Próximo Viernes, así que espero tener nuevas fotos pronto, e intentaré haceros llegar las mejores en un futuro. Hubieron también algunas buenas fotos en conciertos tomadas durante la gira del 83 y algunas de estas estarán dentro del single, además de dentro del cd.

Mark está en estos momentos en el estudio ensayando la música para la banda sonora de Cal y la grabó desde el 1 de Febrero y durante las 6 semanas siguientes. Con lo que esperamos que en Marzo y en Abril se vaya (¡) para escribir increíbles canciones nuevas para el siguiente LP del grupo…En Mayo, producirá un LP para Aztec Camera (más información próximamente) y también en Mayo, el LP de John – el cual está tentado a llamarse John Illsley – saldrá a la venta. La otra noticia es que no me voy. Muchas razones detrás de la decisión en realidad, pero principalmente creo que ha sido un caso de Love Over Gold…

Ahora mismo estamos creando un compromiso para la nueva dirección de Limahl, y no hay malos sentimientos entre el y yo. El está en medio de grabar su primer LP solo y tratando de encontrar un lugar donde vivir (ya que hasta ahora vivía conmigo) así que si sabéis de algún pisito… (sólo bromeaba!)…

Bueno, y creo que eso es todo por ahora.

I can now let you know we have more specific info about the live single/album/video-cassette. A double A-side single will be out Feb 10th (Love Over Gold/Solid Rock) and will be in 10" or 12" format (Solid Rock is too long to fit on a standard 7" single!). The album and video-cassette will be out March 16th.

Love Over Gold will be a bonus track on the cassette and compact disc (it wouldn't fit on the LP) but of course you'll have it anyway if you bought the single!
Around the time of all these items being released, the band will be doing a little press/promotion, so you may see bits and pieces appearing in papers. In particular, you should try and watch Channel 4's The Other Side Of The Tracks on March 3rd, which has a lengthy interview with Mark and clips of the live footage too.
The band are doing a studio photo-session on Friday of this week so hope fully I'll have some new photos soon, the best of which I will try and make available to you at some future date. There were also some good live shots taken during the 1983 tours, and some of these will be on the single bag, plus some on the compact disc insert.
Mark is currently in the studio rehearsing music for the film Cal and he recorded it from February 1st for about 6 weeks in London. Then in March and April we're hoping he will go away (!) to write stunning new songs for the next band studio LP... In May, he will be producing an LP for Aztec Camera (more about that nearer the time) and also in May, John's solo LP - which is tentatively called just John Illsley - will come out. The other bits of news is that I'm not going to leave. Lots of reasons behind the decision really, but basically I suppose it was a case of Love Over Gold...
We are currently sorting out a new management deal for Limahl, and there are no hard feelings between him and me. He is in the middle of recording his first solo LP and also trying to find a place to live (as he had been staying with me) so if you know of a flat... (only joking!)...
